Manufacturing projects fail in a specific way. The system is designed around the plan and the floor works around it within a week — paper travellers reappear, entry is batched at end of shift, and the data is a day old and wrong.

Manufacturing Questions

What plant and operations teams ask us before starting.

They answer different questions. An ERP knows what was planned and what it cost; it usually has no idea what is happening on the line right now. If your problem is visibility, traceability or downtime, that is MES territory, and it integrates with the ERP rather than replacing it.

Often yes — through PLC registers, OPC UA, Modbus or a retrofitted sensor where the machine genuinely cannot talk. Some equipment needs a manual station instead, and we would rather tell you that during scoping than discover it during rollout.

Stations run locally and keep recording. Work does not stop, and when the connection returns the data syncs and reconciles. Any plant system that requires a healthy network to keep the line moving is the wrong design.

We pilot on one line and run it in parallel with the existing method until the numbers agree. Only then does the old method stop, and only on that line. It is slower than a big-bang cutover and it is the reason it works.
